About Angelina
Bio:Born with the rare ability to hear music in colour, synesthesia, Perth alt-pop artist Angelina approaches songwriting and performance with a natural, cinematic emotional depth. Rooted in Australia’s indie landscape, her atmospheric and cathartic live shows have built a growing community of listeners who seek music that is personal and confessional.
Angelina writes for those who feel everything intensely. Her alternative ballads are all-consuming, offering comfort, warmth, and a sense of healing. And the process is cathartic for her too, helping untangle the colours and thoughts cross wired through her synesthesia. Known for her soaring, angelic vocals, she has amassed numerous songwriting awards and a catalogue of hundreds of songs, a testament to her devotion to the craft. A seasoned storyteller from a young age, she reached the Top 8 on Australian Idol at just 15.
Her sound echoes the intimate narrative songwriting of Lizzy McAlpine and Kevin Atwater paired with the dramatic, cinematic production of Radiohead and Sarah Kinsley. Audiences have already embraced her work, from the million viewers of the Australian Idol finals to 60,000 football fans at Optus Stadium during her performance of her debut EP’s title track. At 19, she’s moving into a more intentional era of live performance, ready to build the fan base she’s been growing since her pre-teens.
