'i caved' is the first single from Angelina's debut EP ‘still’. For lovers of crash-out songs and alt-indie pop, it unveils the EP’s unmistakable Angelina signature — angelic vocals, emotionally charged storytelling, and lyrics that cut with confessional precision. Shaped by Angelina’s synesthesia (she sees specific colours when she hears certain chords of music), she says:“The key of A major has always shown up as deep pink red in my synesthesia — the colour of a wound that keeps reopening — so it felt like the only key a song this painful could live in”That pain runs through the track: the instinct to reach out, the instinct to protect yourself, and the ache of knowing you’d still cave in if they called. The repetition of ‘I care / I cared / I caved’ feels like a breakdown of emotional muscle memory — the cycle you’re trying to break, revealing you haven’t quite escaped this ‘one sided thing with the two sides of you’. Both the single and the wider EP ‘still’ are deeply confessional and raw. Built around atmospheric production and a vocal that feels both angelic and aching, the track captures the inner workings of a heartbroken mind — a flurry of hesitation and overthinking. Featuring raw acoustic instruments and nostalgic distortion that mirrors the song’s emotional bruising, the arrangement sways like a pendulum of rumination. Released 29 May 2026 - it is out now!
Blending energy, emotion and that first‑drive feeling, Stereo explores the push to be seen in a relationship that never moves. Pushing hard to move forward, to be seen, to matter — only to realise you’ve been sitting in the background the whole time, like a stereo playing quietly while someone else drives. It’s Angelina’s first release to truly define her new alt-pop sound, produced by Calvin Bennett, and is a 2024 ISC semi‑finalist with strong media acclaim. Angelina says "it has real Heartstopper (Netflix) vibes" so who knows where it will end up. 'Stereo' was a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition 2024 out of Nashville USA in the teen category and a finalist in the Unsigned Only USA music awards 2024 and has received positive reviews from a number of media outlets, read here.
Heart On My Sleeve features in the 'Everywhere' documentary film about the athletes of the World Transplant Games 2023 and the young adult film crew (who each live with a disability) who filmed their inspiring stories to share with the world. 'Everywhere' released in October 2024 at Australia's Parliament House, as did this single. Like the film, this track is a celebration of triumph over adversity and tells the story from three perspectives; the film makers themselves living with disabilities, the donor-recipient athletes' stories of survival and inspirational achievement, and the donors/families whose plight made it possible for someone else to survive. Angelina is proud to have written this song for this incredibly moving film, which will surely motivate thousands to become organ donors. This was 17 year old Angelina's 7th release.
Rescue Me was written on piano in a hotel room in Sydney while filming Australian Idol. It reflects the emotions felt when being portrayed by others in a way that is not necessarily true or representing your authentic self - a relatable experience for many. Rescue Me is quite dramatic and cinematic alt-pop and the first of the crash-out songs that became Angelina's signature sound for the next few years. Rescue Me was Angelina's 6th release.
Chaos was a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition 2023. It was released on 3 November 2023 and is about Angelina's chaotic life at that time, and about yearning for a simpler time. It’s about nostalgia amid chaos. She wrote this about her year filming Australian Idol as a top 8 finalist, reflecting the chaos of filming a show like that; wishing she could press pause and soak it all in, but instead it was moving at the speed of light. It's a soft pop, chill/alt-pop genre song and quite different to last few releases - reflecting her evolving music style. This was her 5th release and 3rd studio track.
Angelina's fourth release is an upbeat pop/soft rock song described by its producers as a banger! It was recorded at Sundown Studios in breaks from Angelina's rehearsals for Mary Stuart. It was nominated for Song of the Year in the 2022 WA Music Awards - Angelina's 4th consecutive year being nominated. She won this award in the youth category in 2021, see below, for Old Land's Tale. Angelina played both Danny Blue and Old Land's Tale live to a room full of WA's best musicians and promoters as a feature act at the 2022 WAM Song of the Year Awards.
Recorded at Sundown Studios in 2021 this is Angelina's third original and the winner of Song of the Year in the WA Music Awards - Youth (14 Years & Under) category. It opened many doors for her, and she was invited to play it live at the following year's Song of the Year awards night.
Inspired by her travels to the central Australian outback, the main melody of Reflections was written during the international Tournament of Minds student challenge in 2019/20. This song was a simple recording at home and was a finalist for Song of the Year in the WA Music Awards Youth (14 Years and Under Category) in 2020. Angelina made the decision to remove this track from streaming platforms for the time being - but maybe one day she'll get it properly produced for re-release?
Angelina wrote and recorded this song in her bedroom at just 11 years old. It describes the sometimes firey bond she has with her twin sister. As her first song she was thrilled that it was a finalist for Song of the Year in the WA Music Awards in 2019 (in the Youth category).
