New Music!
'Stereo' is OUT NOW!! Click here to listen. Angelina wrote this song with a 'drive' similar to one of the first freedoms you get as a teenager driving. The power, the beat, the hum. She wanted to create a song that captured that. It's also about a previous relationship, acting as a metaphor for trying so hard to go somewhere but making no progress. The delusional attempt to be better, be more, be seen, be at the forefront of someone’s mind, and eventually realising that you're just something in the background, like a stereo. Stereo is Angelina's 8th release but the first that really captures her new vibe. Produced by rising star producer, Calvin Bennett, it's Angelina's favourite release and sounds like the sort of music she listens to herself. She says "it has real Heartstopper (Netflix) vibes" so who knows where it will end up! 'Stereo' is a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition 2024 out of Nashville USA in the teen category and has received positive reviews from a number of media outlets, read here.
Angelina is honoured to have her new track Heart On My Sleeve feature in the 'Everywhere' documentary film about the athletes of the World Transplant Games 2023 and the young adult film crew (who each live with a disability) who filmed their inspiring stories to share with the world. 'Everywhere' releases in October 2024 in line with this single release. The song, Heart On My Sleeve, like the film, is a celebration of triumph over adversity and tells the story from three perspectives; the film makers themselves living with disabilities, the donor-recipient athletes' stories of survival and inspirational achievement, and the donors/families whose plight made it possible for someone else to survive. Angelina is so proud to have written this song for this incredibly moving film, which will surely motivate thousands to become organ donors. This is 17 year old Angelina's 7th release.
Angelina's new track was released on 19 April 2024. Rescue Me was written on piano in a hotel room in Sydney while filming Australian Idol. It reflects the emotions felt when being portrayed by others in a way that is not necessarily true or representing your authentic self - a relatable experience for many. Rescue Me is indicative of Angelina's newer brand of angsty alt/pop-soft rock. This is Angelina's 6th release on Spotify and all streaming platforms. She has over a hundred tracks ready to share with the world if/when the time is right.
Chaos is a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition 2023! It was released on 3 November 2023. Chaos is about the chaotic life of a teenager, and about yearning for a simpler time. It’s about nostalgia amid chaos. She wrote this about her year filming Australian Idol as a top 8 finalist, reflecting the chaos of filming a show like that; wishing she could press pause and soak it all in, but instead it was moving at the speed of light. It's a soft pop, chill/alt-pop genre song and quite different to last few releases - more reflecting of her evolving music style. This is her 5th release and 3rd studio track. With a LOT more to come!
Angelina's fourth original is an upbeat pop/soft rock song described by its producers as a banger! It was recorded at Sundown Studios in breaks from rehearsals for Mary Stuart. It has been nominated for Song of the Year in the 2022 WA Music Awards - Angelina's 4th consecutive year being nominated. She won this award in the youth category in 2021, see below, for Old Land's Tale. Angelina played both Danny Blue and Old Land's Tale live to a room full of WA's best musicians and promoters at the 2022 WAM Song of the Year Awards.
Recorded at Sundown Studios in 2021 this is Angelina's third original and the winner of Song of the Year in the WA Music Awards - Youth (14 Years & Under) category! It opened many doors for her, and she was invited to play it live at the following year's Song of the Year awards night.
Inspired by her travels to the central Australian outback, the main melody of Reflections was written during the international Tournament of Minds student challenge in 2019/20. This song was a simple recording at home and was a finalist for Song of the Year in the WA Music Awards Youth (14 Years and Under Category) in 2020
Angelina's first song, at just 11 years of age, was recorded at home on GarageBand. It describes the sometimes firey bond she has with her twin sister, and was written on guitar only a week after picking up a guitar for the first time. It achieved Angelina's first nomination for Song of the Year in the WA Music Awards in 2019 - Youth (14 Years and Under) category, and cemented her love of songwriting.
